Every year Gympie comes alive with film lovers from far and wide to celebrate short films that are uplifting, heartwarming and inspirational during Queensland's biggest short film festival, Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival.

Heart of Gold showcases short films from around the world that deeply resonate with all types of audiences. Taking over the Gympie Cinema, the three day program includes 25 sessions of short films from all genres that best capture Heart of Gold's vision to screen films that are heart-warming, thought-provoking and entertaining. Their films can be edgy, they can be groundbreaking, and they can be downright hilarious – as long as they beat with a good, strong heart.

But their festival is more than this. They invite you to discover more than amazing films that will connect you with people and stories from around the world (and some from your own backyard). Their program includes live music, curated to entice you to stay a little longer and lose yourself to the moment. Join questions and answers with filmmakers from around the world to dig a little deeper and explore the story behind the story. Visual arts, performing arts, music and film that all tell a story.
