The Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic has been operating for 38 years bringing community, business, and visitors together. The event encourages mate-ship, family participation, and positive mental health outcomes through the sport of fishing.
The event runs for 6 days, offering many opportunities for anglers with 5 nights focusing on minority groups to encourage participation: Seniors, Ladies, Youth, Juniors and Team.
Rainbow Beach Sports Club provides the venue, facilities, and staff for the event. They envision 500 adult and 80 teen and junior competitors (based on previous years). In previous years, the community has put in more than 400 volunteered hours in preparations, during the event and post event.
Prizes & giveaways during the 6 day event exceed a quarter of a million, with the ultimate drawdown prize being an incredible fishing boat on the final night of the event
