About

Gold has been part of Gympie story for almost 160 years!
That love of community will again be on full display for all to see with the return of the regions signature festival in October.
Key events coordinated by the Gympie Gold Rush Festival organising committee will combine with partnered, grass root activities run by local community groups.
A Prospectors Cocktail Part, along with the free Community Street Parade scheduled to roll down Mary Street, followed by the main attraction; a free community concert at Nelson Reserve.
The move to bring the Gympie Gold Rush Festival back is another way to showcase what our wonderful community has to offer; one that has contributed so much to the growth and prosperity of our region and state.

This festival's major milestone anniversary year (2027) is just around the corner and the organising committee is setting about reigniting community passion now and in the years to come.
The success of the Festival must be built from the ground up and in the true spirit of what our community's founder, James Nash set out to achieve in1867!
